What is a Pup Raiser?
A volunteer who welcomes a puppy into their home and raises them until they are capable to start service training.
What do we do?
Provide the puppy with age-appropriate socialization opportunities, such as public outings and vet appointments. Provide a safe environment for a puppy who will be the only dog under 12 months old in the house. Work closely with you to monitor the puppy’s progress and provide monthly report cards.
What if the pup isn't deemed fit?
If the puppy is dismissed from the service dog program, Mission Pawsible Dog Training LLC will find a suitable pet home for said puppy. The puppy raiser is always given first chance to adopt.
When will the puppy have to be returned?
Each puppy is different, but in general the puppy will have to be returned to the training facility around age 1. There may be circumstances where the return day will be sooner, but this is at the discretion of the trainers.
